2017世大運開幕、閉幕，確定不在臺北大巨蛋辦。臺北市長柯文哲在4月底的市政會議中，裁示世大運開幕、閉幕將改在臺北田徑場辦理，臺北市體育局也證實，原本要在大巨蛋進行的棒球賽事，也將移到天母棒球場、新莊棒球場舉辦。體育局表示，根據世大運規定，若因安全因素必須更換場地，不構成違約。
